Senior Software Engineer
Technical lead for a multidisciplinary team of about 12, working on the most complex project in the company. Worked with other team leads and Lead Software Engineers to ensure good performance, consistency and standards across all applications in a microservice architecture. Orchestrated and oversaw the full lifecycle of many releases.
Worked closely with product owners and system architects to make key technical decisions which positively impacted the Agile project. Introduced new technologies and standards, creating tools and documentation to help facilitate new starters and partners. In a complicated project, introduced good practices to clean up working environments and worked to maintain them.
Leadership through mentoring and upskilling of other developers, helping progress ready for promotion. Collaborating across teams to produce new ways of working such as facilitating a new design system. Active member of the development and design communities of practice and the accessibility community of interest. Participated in interviews to help find new talent.

Worked as an elearning developer producing modules and solutions for a number of clients using several different LMSs and platforms. Created bespoke elearning and digital solutions when necessary with close collaboration from other teams. Created a new bespoke elearning framework and infrastructure from ground-up to best suit client’s needs with features designed specifically to allow developers more control when creating modules.
Directly managed a team of up to five developers and oversaw another seven. Helped up-skill other developers, allowing them to progress both technically and professionally through formal and informal training. Worked to create personalised development tasks and progression plans, tailoring learning to the learners.
Introduced new processes and tools to increase quality and speed of the development process. Worked with the Innovation team to pioneer new technologies to the workplace and produce working concepts that grew into saleable solutions.

Logo Marketing and Design
Web Designer/Developer
Primary developer for a huge range of websites and web apps, both external and internal. Also developed several internal web-based tools to aid the company's productivity. Helped both designers within the company and designers from other companies to develop site designs whilst interfacing with a number of large clients including SAP.
Built many different proof of concepts to showcase the potentials of using modern coding technologies and techniques to both clients and other developers. Helped to design the front page of the company's website, employing ideas that the directors liked from other sites. Gave help and training to other developers and acted as a consultant on several projects that needed advice on UI best practises.
Worked closely with the company's CTO to help maintain the computing infrastructure after taking control from an external IT company. Provided support for all internal and external systems, including servers, network devices and other hardware.

Applegate Business Directory
Web Designer
Worked on numerous websites and web apps, both internally and externally facing, bringing a variety of previously unused technologies and languages to the projects. Created many successful web-based tools to increase productivity within the workplace, including efficiency monitoring systems and demonstration tools for use within the company.
Assumed the role of lead designer for the 2011 Applegate facelift and fronted the project from concept, through design and implementation up until the release date in just 15 weeks. Interfaced with external UI specialists beforehand to achieve a detailed specification resulting in a more consistent and better HCI experience.
Further evaluated and redesigned after the initial January 2011 release in order to keep the site up to date. Played a key part in the redesign and aided in the initial redevelopment of the company's CRM. Introduced Web Standards documents in order to bring a new uniformity to the site and its internal systems including documentation for colour, styles, fonts, UI/HCI, file structures and frameworks. Also worked as a Flash developer, designing various adverts and banners for a vast array of companies.
Later asked to attend weddings and business events to provide portraiture and reportage photography.

Peninsula College of Medicine & Dentistry (PCMD)
Student Web Developer
Directly interfaced with clients to achieve a design brief and specification. Designed, developed, maintained, backed-up and later improved a wide range of bespoke web sites, web applications and CMS's. Trained non tech-savvy clients on these custom CMS's. Designed countless posters, flyers and other printed documents.
Assumed the role of lead developer overseeing from start to finish a number of large projects, one of which was the largest ever redesign of the PCMD website. Personally built the site from ground-up including specifications, concept, design and development, refinement, accessibility, documentation and debrief. Worked closely with other developers and academics for aspects of design and content, end-users for interface elements and members of the disabled community for accessibility features.
Constructed site using HTML, PHP, MySQL CSS, XML and JavaScript with jQuery. Used Photoshop, Dreamweaver, Fireworks, Illustrator, phpMyAdmin, MySQL GUI Tools and MS Project.
